Frank, this is very interesting to me:

<You've also touched on a very interesting legal matter that will undoubtedly play itself
out in the broader context, as well. That being the requirement of notification and
prompts. Will you provide the other party on the call, as a non-securities- related
businessman, or as a private citizen during the off work hours even, the requisite
notification and beeps every 15 seconds to remind them that the contents of their
conversation and that their voiceprints are being recorded?>

Does't this play out similar to E-mail which provides legal documentation of everything mailed? I realize of course that one might be able to steal or borrow ones' PC and ... but the PC is the fingerprint isn't it?

I mean, look @ the MSFT hearings! They're using BG's E-mail as documentation.

Very Respectfully,

Kevin

... and not just recorded, but recorded in a way that allows entire new classes of uses. You can expect your AT&T representative to call you someday saying, "You know, when you say <your voice here> are you aware that you can save ... but wait! ... you also get these six Ginsu domain names ...

I'm also thinking about the always-on PC ... I'm not sure I want to be viewed as a "managed resource" by some T/TCI network bureaucrat.

There's a whole passle of issues coming down the pike ...

Remember your "cunningly taken out of context" quote ... from the article about how Washington state legislators have effectively given up their constituents right to control access to their state records, specifically medical records?

We're going to see another round of erosion here.
