<<I thought the split was effective on Monday>>...the split is paid on
Monday and the ex-date is Tuesday,in other words, on Tuesday(at the
opening) the price will be approximately one-half of what it closed at on Monday. You will receive 2 shares of AOL for every one you hold on
Monday at the close of business. If you own 100 shares when the market
closes on Monday, you will own 200 shares. When the market opens on
Tuesday, you will own 200 shares. If you buy 100 shares on Monday, you
are entitled to the split and you will own 200 shares at the Tuesday
opening....Hope this clarifies it for you.
