Poor aged artists!

<< Perhaps, later in his life, once his creative flame has begun to dim some, and the call of his muse becomes less seductive... >>

This hasn't happened to me yet. When will it, please? 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, 85, 95? Oh, and why?

<<Rare is the older artist who can tap his youthful creative vigor--the playfullness, fearlessness, and abandon that create "fresh" art.>>

The longer we do something the more we can master it, IMO. And only mastery of form, IMO, can enable an artist to transcend it.

Such a pity the elderly cannot be playful or fearless or abandoned.

Best wishes,
Tom

Yeah, you guys had better write right now what you plan to write. There's not a second to waste. Who wants to read a mature writer pontificate. Show me a soul trying to breathe in this suffocating world, trying to love, trying to achieve some purpose in this farrago of a universe and I'll buy the book and send it to my friends. Reread Keats to Fanny, and his last sonnet. What did that boy have to say that was left unsaid? There simply isn't time to delay. No one cares for artfulness, but the willingness to express what you really feel at the moment is everything. Anyone, even a child, who writes what they really feel will find a readership. We are all far too afraid of convention, of revealing ourselves to ever make our marks on paper. Have you laughed at Shelley lately? Have you laughed at Milton? Not me. Let me look into your heart and soul and I'll become your reader. Write now! Publish to the world! Tell everyone of you and what you think and who you are. Write!
