Something wrong on this thread?!

I just came across a CBS report on software companies stating that WIND has already made it know that it's earnings are 'below' projections? Maybe I am missing something, but I generally thought this thread was privy, bumping elbows with the elite and "knew' these things first.

What gives?

Sorry, just getting caught up. Way back when James Connolly wrote:

The battle won't only be fought on the airways. Someone is going to come up with the operating system that powers the third generation of Net-savvy mobile phones. Three players have thrown their hats in the ring: Microsoft, with Windows CE, Sun, with its Java derivative Jini, and the Symbian consortium that sprang out of Psion.

Java and Jini aren't operating systems. Java is an application environment which sits on top of an operating system. Jini is a mechanism for services seamlessly available across a network, and sits on top of Java. Symbian has recently announced plans to incorporate Java into their EPOC technology on a very wide scale. Java can also run on top of WinCE (and VxWorks, of course).
