<<The
point behind teaching children this is so that there is a lesser incidence of hate crimes
against homosexuals, including homosexual children. >>

Not at the cost of freedom. That's my point.

<<If you say that everyone has the same rights under our laws, and don't condone any
attacks on homosexuals, but are aware that there is a huge number of these hate
crimes in our society, wouldn't you want to take reasonable steps to educate the
homophobic general public that everyone has these same rights?>>

Have civics classes and teach the laws against assault, murder and leave it at that. That is a useful idea and not a PC Movement outreach into the schools.

<<Obviously, children
learn hatred and fear from their parents>>

Soon my children will be old enough to be taught on the subject. I will tell them their is something wrong with homosexuals and lesbians but we are not sure what makes them that way. Feel sorry for them. You are correct that hate comes from fear. I don't see any reason to fear these people as individuals. I have no wish to harm them, but I oppose the PC Activism they are pushing as a group.

<<You seem to be stuck on the idea that teaching tolerance is the same thing as
encouraging your child to be homosexual, like it is a behavior that can be taught>>

I did not say that at all. Read and comprehend. Teaching PC correctness which you call tolerance in school is indoctrination by the state! An attack on freedom.

Gotta go now {:-P

LOL

Christine,
I apologize for being a smart ass in my last post to you. It was uncalled for. Why do people have to suffer, it's unfair. I would make it a perfect world if I knew how. The bible says our suffering is only temporary and does not compare to the glory that is waiting for us with Jesus.
