Michael: There's no reason but that the words 'victory' and 'setback' make for dramatic headlines. Both were used in the Thursday stories. Neither was justified. Since then, the news organizations that reported the story in the first place have backed off those words and are starting to report Whyte's 'clarification' as an ambiguous event. If you know any journalism students, point this out to them as a perfect example of how the media can turn non-events into events.
