Very interesting article Don. Surprisingly Kondratieff's 50 years long wave cycle coincide with the biblical economic cycle. In Leviticus chapter 25, it discuss the concept of the "year of Jubilee". Every 50th year, which is the year after seventh sabbatical years (7 x 7years), all slaves become free and all debts are forgiven (If one sold the land, he gets it back free in the year of Jubilee),so everyone can go back to their own land and have a chance to start over. When the poor gets poorer and the rich gets richer, that is one of the signals that the society is becoming sick. (Lately more millionaires are born every year while homeless and poverty increases). This inequality is resolved by either revolution (war) or depression. Just thought it was interesting that biblical economic cycle which was placed in couple of thousand years ago is still valid in modern times. Leviticus 25:10, You shall thus consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim a release through the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you and each of you shall return to his own property, and each of ou shall return to his family. regards, jon
