That price is about right. They contain about 770 ounces so you are paying about a 25% premium for getting George Washington's picture on the front (or Ben or FDR's).

Another thing to consider is the spread. I'm not sure how they compare to bullion.

I believe silver is a better investment because of the low listorical valuation relative to gold.

The question is will the premium go up at the same percent as silver? I think it will, and secondly if we have the mother of all deflations you still have money to spend.

I remember silver bags selling for near $30k in the heyday 1981-2.
