perhaps I can only speak for myself -- haven't had any losses approaching that absolute magnitude or very large on a % basis .. then again, I'm no player in 97 put losses ate a lot of my long profits in 98 I had some good profits ... IBM has been my worst debacle so far ... <ng> let's see what this year brings ... I know what I can lose up front -- I guess if you buy on margin you can know ahead of time by figuring out what would happen if the stock dropped by such and such amount ... What I found particularly sad about the post was the poster contemplating borrowing more money to meet the margin call ... I guess you've got a good retort for that ... <ng>
