M2 PRESSWIRE-11 May 1999-1ST MIRACLE GROUP: 1st Miracle Group, Inc. to produce "After Sex" starring Brooke Shields (C)1994-99 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

* Pre-sales for Film Already Reach $857,000 in Only Three Foreign Markets

Los Angeles, CA -- 1st Miracle Group, Inc. (OTC BB: MVEE) today announced that it has secured the rights to produce "After Sex" starring Brooke Shields and Jonathan Scheck. The film, scheduled to begin production in early June, will be distributed internationally through Cutting Edge Entertainment, Inc. as part of First Miracle's recently announced multi-picture agreement. The Company has already secured pre-sales of $857,000 in only three foreign markets and anticipates additional significant sales during this month's Cannes Film Festival. Additionally, the Company is presently in discussions with several US distributors.

"After Sex" is a touching romantic comedy which takes a look at what happens when modern relationships enter that critical time...after sex. At the center of the tale is Kate, played by Ms. Shields, who takes off on a "girls only" weekend and explores the personal turmoil which ensues after a wild night on the town.

Commenting on the film, Tony Cataldo, CEO of First Miracle, stated, "After Sex" is a tremendous opportunity for First Miracle - one which we believe has the potential to be our most high profile project to-date. We are equally delighted to have Ms. Shields on board and believe that her recent success in comedy on NBC's "Suddenly Susan" should carry over well to the big screen.

"It is also my pleasure to announce that we have already secured distribution for the film in the foreign markets through Cutting Edge. Based on the tremendous interest we have already received for the film, including $857,500 in international pre-sales, Cutting Edge anticipates sales significantly increasing during the Cannes Film Festival."

The film will be produced by Randall Emmett and George Furla who previously produced, for First Miracle, "Speedway Junky" starring Daryl Hannah and Jonathan Taylor Thomas and "I'm Over Here" starring Andrew "Dice" Clay, as well as "Escape to Grizzly Mountain" (which completed production ten days ago) starring Dan Haggerty. "After Sex" will be directed by Cameron Thor (director of "Shaded Places" starring Christina Applegate and Molly Ringwald). The project is based on an original screenplay by Thomas M. Kostigen.

First Miracle will be presenting "After Sex", "Speedway Junky", "I'm Over Here", and another exciting project to be announced at the Cannes Film Festival later this week.

First Miracle is an independent film production company focused on the development of full-length features in a number of popular genres, including comedy, action and drama.

Jump to first matched term
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 1999--1st Miracle Group, Inc. (OTC BB: MVEE) announced today an update on recent corporate activities.

Stated Tony Cataldo, CEO, "Since coming on board earlier this month, we have taken a number of important steps towards the growth and development of First Miracle, all of which we believe will prove beneficial in bringing the Company to the next level. In particular, during this period we have enacted an overall corporate restructuring program which to-date has included solidifying our long-term relationship with Menahem Golan, a 35-year film industry veteran, one time Oscar winner and four time Oscar nominee. We have also added to our Board John Salley, three time NBA champion and founder of UJAMMA Entertainment, a move which we believe provides the Company with a number of new business opportunities. Presently, we are also looking to secure space in the Los Angeles area for our new corporate headquarters which we anticipate opening towards the end of May.

"We are also pleased to announce that our film 'Speedway Junky' continues to receive praise at various International film festivals, including Berlin and the recently completed LA Independent Film Festival. As a result, we have recently reached an agreement with Cutting Edge to distribute the film internationally, and will look to solidify sales in the various foreign markets following our showing at Cannes next month. Domestically, we are in ongoing discussions with a number of potential distributors, and will continue to shop the film on the festival circuit until we reached an agreement which best reflects the film's potential.

"In addition, production of 'Escape to Grizzly Mountain' continues on schedule, and following some minor delays we expect to conclude final editing on 'Delta Force' shortly. We are also in the process of finalizing several additional film projects which we will look to announce as agreements are reached, and will be showcasing our Andrew Dice Clay comedy special, 'Roll the Dice', along with 'Speedway Junky' and one other film during next month's Cannes Film Festival in an effort to secure foreign sales for these projects.

"Finally, following the conclusion of our fiscal year end on April 30th, we will be filing a complete financial statement with the SEC, a step which is a necessity as we look to eventually change our bulletin board status. Over the next several months, we will continue to analyze our present position in the marketplace and how best to meet the goals and objectives of our management team and shareholder base."

A 35-year film industry veteran, Golan is an Oscar winner and four time Oscar nominee. His credits include Bo Derek's "Bolero", "Missing in Action" and "Delta Force" starring Chuck Norris, "Cobra" starring Sylvester Stallone, "Bloodsport" with Jean Claude Van Damme and "Breakin'", a $1.6 million production which grossed in excess of $63 million.

Golan stated, "I am delighted to have this opportunity to team with Cataldo on the production of various film projects, and to continue my prosperous career with such a promising group of individuals. Commenting on the appointments, Peter Benz, Chairman of the 1st Miracle Group, commented, "We believe Cataldo will prove to be a valuable addition to our management team, especially given his vast experience in running public companies and successful orchestration of numerous turn-around situations. In fact, during his career, Cataldo has grown the market cap value of several firms by 300 to 1,200 percent. With the sale of our first major product, "Speedway Junky", nearing completion and a number of exciting film projects in the pipeline - including "Escape to Grizzly Mountain" which recently commenced production - 1st Miracle has reached a pivotal point in its development and we believe that today's additions are instrumental as we look to take the Company to the next level."

Cataldo added, "Considered by most to be the most successful individual in the independent film industry, Golan's ability to produce highly profitable films is a tremendous asset to our Company and I look forward to working closely with him on current and future projects. Additionally, we are delighted to have Salley join our board, an individual who has proven himself a leader not only on the basketball court but in the entertainment arena, as well. In addition to bringing a number of exciting film projects to the table, Salley's expertise and extensive contacts in the television and music industry should allow us to extend our capabilities to include these lucrative businesses. Following the recent successful completion of "Speedway Junky" with the hot new production duo - George Furla and Randall Emmett - we look forward to a long and successful relationship with them."

Concluded Salley, "Having worked with Cataldo previously and being a long time fan of Golan's films, I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with them and the rest of the management team on what is certain to be a significant force in the independent film arena. Given the Company's already impressive list of core assets, coupled with the numerous projects myself and my colleagues are developing, I believe that we have a tremendous growth opportunity, especially under the direction of Cataldo."

1st Miracle Group, Inc. Enters Foreign Distribution Agreement with Cutting Edge; Company Secures Rights to Upcoming Andrew Dice Clay Comedy Event
Jump to first matched term
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 1999--1st Miracle Group, Inc. (OTCBB:MVEE) announced today that it has entered into a multi-picture foreign distribution agreement with Cutting Edge Entertainment, Inc. a leading international distributor of films.

Cutting Edge was founded in 1994 by David Glasser, the company's Chairman and CEO. During the past year, David and his partner, Adam Stone, president, were responsible for the distribution of approximately 15 titles and financed six projects, with combined sales in excess of $20 million.

The agreement includes several of 1st Miracle's films, among them recently completed "Speedway Junky" starring Darryl Hannah and Jonathan Taylor; and "Roll the Dice", a 1 1/2 hour comedy special showcasing comedian and actor Andrew "Dice" Clay which the company has recently secured the rights to. The special, filmed during a recent Las Vegas show, will feature behind-the-scenes footage and live stand-up routine. Both projects were produced by George Furla and Randall Emmett and will be screened during the Cannes Film Festival during the week of May 13th along with another undisclosed 1st Miracle project.

Clay's previous comedy specials include "Andrew Dice Clay - No Apologies," "One Night With Dice," and "The Dice Man Cometh - Andrew Dice Clay Live!", among others. He has also starred in such films as "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" and "Amazon Women on the Moon."

In announcing the agreement, Tony Cataldo, CEO of 1st Miracle Group, commented, "We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with Cutting Edge on the foreign distribution of these and other various projects, and look forward to a fruitful relationship as we continue to rev up our production of films of international appeal. David and Adam have built one of the top international distribution houses and their understanding of the ever changing market is apparent in their ability to pre-sell titles while still in the development stage. We are equally excited about working with Mr. Clay on an upcoming comedy special, his first in nearly four years. Given Mr. Clay's unique brand of comedy and tremendous fan base, we believe that this project will create significant interest both domestically and internationally."

Added David Glasser, "Given the nature of our business, we are extremely cautious about the production companies we choose to work with. However, given the content of 1st Miracle's projects and the new management team overseeing the company's overall operation, we feel comfortable working with them on a long-term basis. While foreign buyers are increasingly more selective about the motion pictures they are purchasing at the various festivals and markets, such well produced and well acted films as "Speedway Junky" are in synch with the needs of these buyers. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship and in collaborating with 1st Miracle on their upcoming diverse slate of high profile projects."
