Steve, If my salvation depended on my good works I'd be flushed. Mercy, love and grace the only way.

Dispensationalism

Dispensationalism refers to the extrabiblical (outside-Scriptural) view that God changes His ways and His mind in different eras of history. It feeds the erroneous view of modalism, which is an evolutionary view of God, and is ultimately defeatist in outlook. Dispensationalism ignores or denies the unity of the New-Testament church with the people of God from history past, namely the descendants of Abraham; and seems to wink at all the evidence that God is immutable: never-changing. It is important to note that dispensationalism is a distinctly twentieth-century phenomenon, thanks to such influences as Scofield's Bible notes -- as well as the naturally escapist tendencies we share as fallen men.
