Kent, I think she lost a lot of money trading ASND last year and she hates Mory. So is Mr. Cramer, he was on the wrong side of ASND last year. Most of these folks wrote ASND off based on one hiccup in sept. 97 quarter. Even the worst quarter they made 20cents. She was negative on ASND since then. That explains her take on LU/ASND. The fact is that they are in the center of explosive internet bandwidth growth and are leading the charge.

Ascend is one company who stood straight up in CSCO's face, the not only stood their ground even gained ground both in the time to market and in market share.

As to the merger, LU and ASND were working together long enough to make it smooth. LU culture is differant than ATT. They are acting like a 30 billion dollar startup.

Regards,
BR

Kent, I don't think being dominant in the carrier space is sufficient to ensure long-term viability as a major player in the networking/telecom area, although there may be a few quarters of strong growth. ASND must have come to the same conclusion since they agreed to being bought out by LU.
