This is a bit difficult, however because I get bits and pieces of information I consider high in credibility I can render these tidbits. I do not intend to be evasive but I don't want to speculate unduly on this thing and let the facts and 13-D filings speak the direction this thing will play out. I have reason to believe that BERU has thrown a line at Questor and other significant inside remaining position holders in the $17 to $18 range and were rejected. If this info was accurate, BERU is attempting to opportunistically accumulate more stock in the open market, however the 15% level is imminent, which should generate a more reliable disclosure on their true intentions. If $17-18 were rejected, where does the control interest put a for sale sign on the stock? Remember Questor bought the Schneebeck block last May, and I doubt that they were interested in a 50% total return on their investment. Will BERU pay into the $20's? Perhaps, but a lot of that will depend on their vision of the near to medium term expansion in the alternative fuels market, and I Suspect that means China, or a potential entrance for BERU into U.S. Big 3 product lines (what do we call DCX now by the way)? If impco could generate U.S. GM business for Beru, the price BERU may be willing to pay could be materially higher than prices that I have heard that they have been willing to pay previously. Sorry if this is a bit too lengthy but there is still a very formidable curtain being thrown on whats going on here by IMPCO's management. You may want to look at motivation of Mr. Stemmler based on the new tier of options he was issued last year. I do believe Bob is highly motivated to get a materially higher stock price. Peter, you might want to take a look at a couple of other names JC and I have followed for some time. CMED and FRNT. FRNT is beginning to generate crushing numbers and is trading at about 8.5X this years (march 99) estimate. Sorry for being politically incorrect here.
