Why would it depend upon share price? If a $50 share goes down 10 points and a $20 share goes down 10 points and you have 1000 shares of each the dollar profit is the same (of course the percentage of gain over original investment is different).

Don't get too concerned with arbitrary percentage amounts but do pay attention to margin coverage. If the stock goes up 20% after fully invested are you still OK? That is a better question to ask yourself.
