The sub $1,000 computer market has been heating up all year long. I put one of my older pentium computers in the newspaper last week so that I could pay for some of the parts I have ordered for a smokin, blowin, barnstormin PC I am building here on the table behind me. I have had twenty calls for people wanting the thing. I sold another older upgraded 486 that I had and could literally have sold 10 more for around $800 if I would have had them.

I talked to all of the people that wanted computers and out of all of the calls most (95%) did not know a AMD from a Pentium or a CD-rom from a DVD-rom. All they asked me is can I get on the internet???

The volume of people needing cheap computers will be filled by AMD and they have already been through the toughest period it seems trying to ramp up their production to meet demand. If they can slowly stabilize the price and promote the intense 3-D graphic capabilities of their chipline then the competition with the higher end market of PC's which Intel has controlled will give them increased market share.

After all of that what I am after is a pop in the price due to the timing of the news and the low price today to $23 and then I will say God Bless AMD and will go on to my rewards stashin the cash. I don't think that is to much to ask.
