Great idea, JRH. We'll all benefit from your efforts. Threadmates who want to nominate an Internet company can find the 1/4/99 closing price at chart.yahoo.com.

JRH, just a hint, state the rules for your portfolio up front (size, profitability, etc.). I presume you are looking for potential Gorillas and Kings, not start ups that only have the potential to grow into chimps. Your decision is final on selections since you control the edit key <g>.

Contact me if there are there any companies listed in the G&K Index that you think would be better suited to your Internet Portfolio.

Cal Poly SLO puts out a pretty great product <g>,
Frank

For those interested (I don't think you would be here if you weren't ;o):

The Emerging Internet G&K Index (http://www.techstocks.com/investor/qport-4836466) has been updated. I am assuming that $1000 or each stock were bought on 1/4/99. Folks, I need your input for this portfolio! Let's start discussing who should be added (or removed, for that matter)!!

I am open for comments....

Justin

No Brainer, emerging candidate: Real Networks, RNWK

As an investor lucky enough to own several gorillas on a cost basis of 5 to 10 percent of their current prices, I'm kinda spoiled and I love the idea of an emerging portfolio even more than the fully developed primate variety. Thanks Uncle, Justin and all contributors to this thread for the intelligence and politeness shared. Very enjoyable and enlightening. Go long and prosper. Rory
