Hawkins to the newly created position of President, Internet Technology. In this new role, Mr. Hawkins will provide strategic counsel and technical vision to the company's Internet Group, as well as its Ventures investments. Prior to joining America Online, Mr. Hawkins was the Chief Technical Officer of BookLink Technologies, where he pioneered the design and development of componentized Internet browser technology. Prior to BookLink, Mr. Hawkins served for 7 years at Interleaf, where as a System Architect, he pioneered the design and development of electronic publishing and DOS-extender technologies. Mr. Hawkins received a BA from Swarthmore College in 1975, and did graduate work in Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT.
