Joseph, Jerry should have a gag implanted in his mouth so he can say nothing at all. He is prone to off the cuff hyperbole.
The math problem was fixable and it was . Intel ate some and lied and blustered at first and then caved. they should have caved instantly, they do now when a bug is found.
The celery is still dead. They used a new chip and put a similar name on it, an A was added, but the guts are different. It is a good fast chip and took sales from the AMD parts and intel parts (P-II). Better lose the sales to your own chip than AMD is what Intel said when it became clear that AMD/cyrix were kings of the low end. Still the celron is not as cost effective as the AMD parts. sells well though even so.
Now Intel will have the DOJ on it's case. See business week article.
