It is interesting.

A broker once told me that BB market makers, unlike those on the exchanges, are not required to trade at the bid/ask.

That is, if I submit a buy order at market on a listed stock the MM is required to sell it to me if he has the shares at the ask or less.

And if I submit a sell market order he has to buy my shares at the bid or better.

This does not apply to BB stocks. So the bid/ask simply doesn't mean as much as on the exchanges.

It also explains why some people were complaining a few weeks ago that their orders, at market - not limit, were going unfilled.
