I figured out my problem and the solution may be relevant for others. When downloading and asked "save to disk" or "run from this location", choose "run from this location". Follow all other relevant download instructions. Worked for me.

Good luck, I love the features, especially ignoring all the busybodies on the NAVR thread who don't have a life and live only for the hype and gossip on the thread.

Hi Carole,
Do you need help in diagnosing why the DOS app is not running?
Well, here's some suggestions in any case. Check out #reply-7938001 for some technical details. I would suggest the following:
1. Make sure the DOS app is in your startup folder:
C:\windows\start menu\programs\startup (this path is different on NT)
2. Make sure the .DLL files are in c:\program files\browsemaster
3. Make sure App Paths is set up properly in the registry

Alternately, you can open Explorer, go the C:\Program Files\BrowseMaster, drag the BrowseMaster.exe icon onto your desktop with the right mouse button to create a link from your desktop to the BrowseMaster DOS executable, and then you can start up the DOS task whenever you need it.

Regards,
Craig
