rainy days and Mondays always get me down.....huh? what? oh yeah....same old pattern emerging today...Monday. And the DOW is up up up. And the powers that be drop the price so the accumulators can take more stock. Volume light and trade is sloppy. And the song remains the same.....

<....Why is that your criteria for significant purchases? Wouldn't you base it off of their likely expectation for market share, see how that (by itself) might impact earnings...and subsequently impact stock price? .....>

Well, I've heard it said by a very powerful man in corporate America that one should be either be #1, #2 or be getting out of the business.

So, I think that it should also be with investing -- get with a #1 or #2 issue. If you find yourself holding #3 or #4, then sell and buy #1 or #2. That is the #1 or #2 way to make money investing.

BTW - My criteria for ranking is a subjective one based on revenues and all of those things that you cite.

OFF TOPIC - Blockbuster Tale

I can't believe this just happened to me. Last night I brought back a 5 day rental tape to Blockbuster, that I kept for 9 days (ass-uming I would have to pay another $3.21 for the extra rental period). When she asked me for over 10 dollars, I asked why, mentioning that I only had it for one additional 5 day rental period. She gave some lame reason that they needed to scan the tape if I wanted that, so I was obligated to bring it in and re-rent it. And there was a $3.21 per day late fee. After some nasty discussion with the manager, I told them that if they were going to take the ten spot from me, then they could take my card too, since this policy was unacceptable. She told me she was sorry I felt that way!!

So I crumbled my card, threw it on the counter, and paid the fee. Someone said we might have VOD this year right? In the meantime, I have to look for another tape store....

I never really wished Blockbuster bad fate...until now...
