This is a typical example of a company(CPQ) trying to imitate the leader(DELL) and doing it badly. I strongly believe that you are DIRECT or you're not. There is no place for compromises called hybrid models. In such a model CPQ will end competing against itself more then against DELL. MD is right when he says that their business model lack of focus. It will result only in customers confusion. Customers trying to know what is the best way to buy a computer at CPQ.
