K;

I haven't made up my mind regarding Sharpe's view because of the performance of some invesment guru's such as Warren Buffett, who himself derides the random walk theory of stock prices. At the same time, its difficult to assess the value of most individual analyst's comments or recommendations because of conflicts of interest, lack of timeliness, and other biases in the media. Incidentally, newsletters are commonly thought to suffer from the same problems. Perhaps their best value is educational: they cause the viewer to think and critically analyze what they say. Of course, if viewers don't do this , then they would have only entertainment value for the viewer, although their appearance would have commercial value for the media and the companies they represent. That's one big advantage to BB's program, imho, he does not work for another organization and I believe that he has a personal interest in educating his audience.
