You know that no manufacturer wants their pricing structure dictated to them by one component maker. It's rare that one component maker can price a whole end market. OEMS traditionally look for second sources. Gateway is getting a good deal on K6-IIIs and also getting in line for the K7...just "in case" AMD can deliver.

A Celeron is a great chip but the K6-III will be positioned between it and the P-III pricewise.
