Greg,

Nortel is a global corporation with both manufacturing and some administrative offices scattered around the world. They had patched together an X.25 network using one of the DMS family members and buying facilities where and as required.

It's quite conceivable that they've decided to quit wasting resources building their own internal communications networks and have gone to G1 as one of the very few Service Providers that could meet their global needs.

This doesn't sound shocking or even unusual in today's business world. Competitors in one transaction may have a customer-supplier relationship in another.

Ian.
