<<My best position short in 1998 went 300% against my first lot. I'd like to have more 'mistakes' like that one. Why would I care that there were folks who would pay 3 times extremely overpriced? I was more than happy to sell to them.>>

Barb,

I remember that one. I think that was my first short if I am thinking of the right stock.

Good Day,

Erik

If you shorted something and it went 300% against you without you
boxing or covering/reshorting it higher, this is not a "mistake" but
"a horrible mistake".

You can be a successful shorter for years but it only takes one
mistake like the above and you will be wiped out. Entry point is
at least as important as identfying the target. You can not continue
shorting into strength without some kind of exit strategy.

The stock in question is probably CFON or KTEL. My guess is CFON
and you probably started shorting around 5. What if it went to 100
instead of 15 before it crashed and burned?

A@P is a good trader but not because his targets are good, we all
know the stocks being played here are mostly products of a mania. He is good because his entry points are good. I personally started
following him when he covered his original SKYM position for a loss
and later reshorted it higher.

You must have an exit strategy. Can not let a ZITL ruin years of hard
work before crashing.

He is making shorting look easy, "start shorting and keep shorting
as it runs higher" seems to be the message and it should not be.
