(TTi), ISO 9000 certified for five years and a leading supplier of tape storage solutions, will be showing a complete line of data storage systems, automated tape libraries and a Y2K solution at FOSE 99, Washington, D.C., March 16 through 18 in Booth No. 1714. TTi will be showcasing an automated tape library solution for enterprise storage applications at FOSE, the Saguaro(a) Series. Saguaro Open Systems Library The Saguaro Series of tape libraries from Breece Hill is the first that includes the on-board power of the Microsoft Windows NT(a) operating system. Saguaro libraries are equipped with Pentium(a) class processors running Windows NT 4.0 that make the power of Windows NT-based data management as easy as point-and-click. A 12-inch color, touch-screen LCD panel on the front of the library displays the Windows NT desktop. Dual DLT Drive Also on display at the TTi booth will be the company's 2300 storage system, a dual DLTtape drive solution. Designed for data backup and storage, the unit delivers 70 GB of storage capacity, with a native transfer rate of 5 MB per second per drive. The 2300 includes high efficiency data compression and data compaction, allowing support of variable block sizes without capacity loss, and a cache buffer optimizes operation based on host data rate capabilities. The 2300 is also available in single drive, stacker and library configurations, and provides significant performance and capacity advantages over any other product in its class. Mammoth with Data-Handling Utilities The TTi 8900 Mammoth(a) storage solution will also be shown. The 8900 provides quick backup, and is ideally suited for applications such as digital video, multimedia, near-online storage and HSM. The 8900 operates in the following modes: cascade, mirroring and off-line copy/verify. It is backward compatible with older 8mm drives. All TTi products are compatible with the leading storage management and HSM software packages. Tape Commander for Y2K The company's Tape Commander(tm) will also be demonstrated at FOSE. The unit can connect to up to four single drive subsystems or up to two media changers, increasing performance. An ideal Y2K solution, the Tape Commander provides mirroring, cascading, and independent off-line copy/off-line verify modes for the utmost in data protection. The mirroring mode allows for instant writing of the same data to two drives simultaneously, creating a second backup copy for offsite storage or for remote sites in the time it takes for a single backup, or for Y2K added security/protection. The Tape Commander works with every popular tape drive system.
