I remember reading that Apple plans to "refresh" the iMac line every six months or so; can't say for certain, but the addition of FireWire and other features such as DVD would seem like a natural at some point. Maybe now that Apple is farming out the iMac to LG Electronics in South Korea, the savings in production costs could allow the addition of these technologies and still keep the retail price of the iMac steady (or even lower it).
