Steve, can you help me out in analyzing the after market. i put an after order in to sell AMZN at 106 1/4. i saw it print all over (above and below) yet i never got lifted. i was instinet (so i'm told) yet i saw other printsat my price which i was told were either Isld or Arca. i also was told that ARCA kicks out its orders at 2 minutes post close, 1 hr post close, and 8 hours post close. have you ever heard of this? then i was told that my Instinet order is kicked out 45 min. post close? is this standard or broker specific? how would yamner have handled an after hours order for AMZN? what route do the professional (big buyers/sellers)use? for example my t/s has a trade going off at 17:04 at 108 27/32. where was this done? is there a way i can tell? please list any rules you know of governing after hours trades (exchange times, kick outs, etc..) as always your input is very appreciated. so far i have only been able to tell if its late or a form"t" by looking at the quote.com link. quote.com Realtick 3 doesn't indicate if trades are late or not (as far as i can tell). as always your input is very appreciated.

Steve:

We have a discussion underway on a thread in Overvalued Stocks about brokers that let you short stock when none is available at the loan post. Can you add any insight into how this works? Should I be reluctant to do a short this way?
