ASNT - Winproxy does the same thing for $50 and works like a charm!

Agree QuietWon. These new products appear to be nothing more than ethernet hubs, dual modems, and ISDN switches. Maybe neatly bundled, but nothing special and nothing new IMHO. I'll add to my watch list and track it for a while. It's only an announcement right now. Time will tell if they're able to make any money on these new products.

From the news release:

Designed to serve as a simple, ''all in one'' Internet and network connectivity centers, Asante's Multi-user Internet products combine high speed analog or digital ISDN Internet connections with a built in router and Ethernet hub, plus phone and fax connections, and an IP ''firewall'' with filtering and security options. These Internet devices are provided at prices that home, small office and classroom users can afford with a list price for the FriendlyNET Dual Analog Model 2214a at $799, and list for the FriendlyNET ISDN Model 2104i at $738.

QuietWon, Check out SMSC and tell me what you think about today's INTC news release. SMSC is finally seeing some fruits from the 1987 INTC/SMSC agreement. I'm still doing my DD on it, but I like all the previous news releases as well. Could be a great intermediate to long-term hold.
