Interface Systems Recommended by IBM for Host Document Delivery 08:00 a.m. Feb 24, 1999 Eastern ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Interface Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: INTF) today announced that IBM has selected the company to be a member of the IBM(R) eNetwork(TM) Software Partner in Development program, part of the IBM Solution Developer Program. In conjunction with Interface's appointment to this program, IBM now recommends the company's Document Server product for delivering host printing via its eNetwork Communications Server for Windows NT.
"Document Server adds significant print capabilities to our Communications Server product. Because Document Server can handle such a wide variety of data formats and output devices, it fits well with Communications Server -- allowing our customers to choose applications based on their business needs, not on the makeup of their networks. We're very pleased to be working with Interface," said Joe Anthony, IBM Product Manager, Host Integration Servers.
"IBM's eNetwork Communications Server for Windows NT is the best of breed answer for enterprise class host communications when reliability, performance, and availability are mandatory requirements. The combination of eNetwork Communications Server and our Document Server product meets this acid test," said Robert Nero, president and CEO of Interface.
IBM's eNetwork Communications Server for Windows NT provides a powerful multifunction, multiprotocol gateway for connecting diverse applications and network environments. eNetwork Communications Server enables workstations to communicate with other workstations and host computers, regardless of platforms and network configurations. This gives users the freedom to choose applications based on their business needs and not their network protocol. Interface Systems' Document Server is specifically designed to take any incoming print data stream, convert it to any output data stream, and route it to any output device, including print, fax, e-mail or browser. Document Server requires no host software changes, supports IBM's AFP/IPDS and SCS print data streams, and communicates to the host via IBM Communications Server, bridging the gap between where an organization's information is, where it needs to go and how that organization has chosen to get it there.
To take full advantage of today's newest computer technologies, many commercial developers are teaming with IBM by developing solutions based on IBM eNetwork Software. Interface's Document Server is one such product.
The Communications Server is a component of the Host Integration solution from IBM and provides all the software necessary to enable secure access for every user, regardless of platform or network environment, to mission-critical business systems. Businesses can then connect their customers, partners, suppliers, vendors and employees to any source of information in the world.
Interface Systems is a member of IBM's worldwide Solution Developer Program which is designed to help commercial software developers reach broader markets, lower their costs of doing business, and take their products to market faster. The program is focused on leading-edge technologies that enable developers to deliver complete e-business solutions to their customers.
