This percentage is more than double the Company's original projection of 20-30%. The Company also announced that it has debuted and will support three successful new half-hour shows with nearly 1000 airings each week on broadcast and cable television throughout the United States. The new shows all fully incorporate the Company's e-commerce initiative to use its $110 million annual television media to solicit members into Everything4Less. Over the next eight weeks, every new infomercial will be formatted to include three promotions for Everything4Less -- at the show introduction, in the middle, and a full commercial featuring ''the three TV moms'' (Marion Ross, Florence Henderson, and Shirley Jones) at the end. In addition to the promotions which include the Everything4Less Website for online enrollment and a toll free number to join Everything4Less, National Media will promote the Everything4Less membership to everyone who calls to order a product or for information. The Company projects that it will receive 2 million orders and in excess of 3 million additional inquiry/customer service calls in the upcoming fiscal year. Additionally, the Company will soon begin to insert material promoting Everything4Less with every product shipped. Stephen C. Lehman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, ''We are thrilled with the results of the new infomercial format to drive and leverage our new e-commerce initiative. The number of Everything4Less trial memberships generated via the new infomercial format greatly exceeds our original projections. The success of our latest programs gives us every reason to believe that our infomercial business will be even stronger than in 1998 when we had four of the top 10 most successful programs. These recent results certainly validate our e-commerce strategy.'' The three new shows are: --"TimeWorks FX," the latest generation of National Media's successful fitness machine; --"The Great North American Slimdown '99," the sequel to The Great North American Slimdown shows, which to date have enjoyed more than $75 million in sales and sold more than 500,000 units; --"Escape Your Shape," the first customized fitness program which optimizes results based on the user's body shape. The new shows augment the other programs which National Media continues to air over nationwide cable and broadcast television. Those shows include T-Fal Expressware, Ingenio Fat Free Stackable Cookware, Fat Free Express, and Iron Quick. The Company is already in production of another three shows.
