I didn't go that far...but I feel your pain;-)

Thread: What follow is a lot of chit chat, so
just disregard if noise bothers you.

I needed a bit more cash to put together an
order to get 1000 Curagen the other day*...I
looked up and down my portfolio for something
that was pissing me off, and so I took 1500 of
my 3000 Ariad off the table. The slow steady
weakness the stock has shown lately was part
of the reason too--I thought we were through
the worst part...and then the volume petered
out too!

Sounds like you got an okay price on your warrants--
in fact, I'm a bit surprised you did that well.
Actually, I wanted to retain some exposure to
the possibility of big news, and perhaps an
extension for the warrants--so even though I
ended up lightening up in the common, I grabbed
some more ariaw on the cheap for 5/32 a week ago
or so--I figure Ariad management shows little interest
in propping up the common with these convertable
giveaways so they are just as likely to extend the
warrants as well, in which case they are probably
pretty cheap in here...I wouldn't pay 1/4, but 5/32 not
too shabby.

I didn't get too many ariaw tho, net result was to put
$800 back in the warrants, and take about $2800 out of
the common.

Speaking of Viragen now...I only had 1000 shares at
3/4ths, but even that trivial amount was too much.
Looks like Braveheart is turning negative on that one
too today.

As far as PARS...while I was getting my new Rx eyeglasses
the other day, I left the most recent PR with the Optomitrist,
to give to her husband the Opthamologist. I've stripped off
the name, but these were the comments he emailed to me, for
what it is worth...

PARS:
there are several allergy drops that are as efficacious as
Lotemax. I dont see how Pharmos' market share will increase
very dramatically. And ophthalmologists account for only a
small percentage of actual ocular prescriptions written; most
patients will by choice or design (i.e. HMOS) be funneled through
their GP who will then prescribe an eyedrop.

I don't think he will mind me posting the comments, I'm sure
he would say worth two cents/do your own DD, but that was
all I needed to see to unbookmark PARS from my watch list,
besides, I have a little trading gain in that, maybe better
to just walk away.

*fyi, CRGN...I downloaded the latest patent, it suggested
to me that maybe Curagen has put together a nice little
system...and while I most certainly do not understand 90%
of what the patent describes, I didn't see anything to
scare me off. I basically flipped a coin between glgc and
crgn...and went with the latter.
