Q could certainly choose a worse role model than" Intel Inside". And every device does already say Digital by Qualcomm, altghough not so boldly. Looks like this year we're gonna see alot more of those devices, and soon CE devices also. I've felt for a while that they'd be unable to both make their own branded consumer products and then compete directly with their customers, that they'd have to choose one or the other model, and that perhaps Digital by Qualcomm Inside made the most sense, especially when one considers the magnitude and variety of the upcomming market, with a few niche high margin Q branded products thrown in for good measure. Mgmnt doesn't seem to have decided yet. The Thin Phone sounds very promising though, and as long as they don't miss on the delivery date and lose time to mrket vis a vis Nokia et al it should do a nice job for the bottom line.

Greggs idea that Q might pair with ERICY on Infrastructure also makes good sense to me. Both companies would be winners. I haven't been an advocate of selling that division, a large investment in it has been made, it informs the ASIC research, has good products and ideas like HDR, and if at all possible the rewards should be reaped.

One thing seems pretty clear IMO, despite Tero and others recriminations to the countrary, and that is that in QCOM mgmt we're dealing with one very very savy team, and they've created a lot of choices for themselves, an enviable situation no doubt.

I own Nokia too but if we really do get the all clear, ie an agreement with ERICY and a converged 3G solution I'll probably sell some and get even more overwight QCOM, being like Mqurice a most of your eggs in one basket and watch that basket very carefully kind of guy..
