FireWire and the Universal Logic Board.

>With the arrival of FireWire, Apple has quitely taken one more step towards the universal logic board. Like the current trend in automobile production towards shared platform technology, eventually this logic board will span all four product categories and help cut costs, deliver better product, and speed up research and development cycles.<

<<iMark>>

Reminds me of a commercial for the Isuzu iMark a few years back.

Picture this, a bunch of Japanese automotive execs arguing in a board room about what to name their latest car. They each yell out names of animals that they pull out of an English dictionary "Giraff", "Orangutan", "Skunk".

The wizened, old CEO hears them out. When they all quiet down, he says "iMark".

Everyone bows in concurrence lauding this great name.

One exec turns to the other makes a face like "wher'd that old coot pull that one?" and says "iMark?"
