I can't believe you are serious --- $195 is very low. At that price most mines would close, CB reserves would be decimated and even the short-sellers wouldn't find much meat on the bone. CRB would be below 100 and deflation would be rampant. It also presupposes a VERY strong dollar and a trashed Euro and Yen. I can't see who would benefit. The world economy would be in dire straits. I would think reflation --- even inflation --- would have to take place long before then. After all, the whole purpose behind paper money is that it can be printed! Keynes and all that stuff!

If only they would print a bit, then the goldbug prayer would be answered. Greenspan would be hailed as a Saint! Rubin would be the Chief Rabbi! Inflation is not the curse of gold, it's its blessing! It's deflation and real interest rates which are smashing gold. There's no conspiracy --- none is needed.
