I really liked Love in the Time of Cholera, but 100 years of Solitude is still my favorite. Of course Jane Austen and Trollope are the authors I read over and over again. Manners and urbane observations, my cup of tea. I am reading a great non-fiction book called "A Midwife's Tale"- it won the Pulitzer prize and actually deserved to win (imho). It isn't for everybody, but if you have an interest in history, especially in colonial history, this is a fascinating book about the part of society left out of other history books. This is a history of small events, but when considered cumulatively those small events add up to the sum of life in the late 1700's. I just can't say enough in praise of this book.
