ALL:

OT

If you're like me, you're probably interested in finding decent portfolio tracking and tax reporting software. So maybe this will be of interest.

I ordered Captools, the application that got a good review in thestreet.com. It is a powerful program, and if you had the time to learn all its ins and outs, the investment of time and money would probably pay off. But it is definitely clunky and unresponsive for the first time user. Baffling at times.

But I would have been willing to persevere if the darn thing didn't keep crashing with General Protection Fault messages. Sort of annoying when you've finally got the thing to accept the transactions you entered, price them, and give you a current valuation, and then find that everything you entered is lost.

So I phoned for an RMA today and spoke to a young lady who said - "oh yeah, we know about that problem, we're working on it".

Not savvy marketing, would you agree?

And the pity is that given work, this is a decent program.

Another thing - why don't any of these programs allow you to automatically calculate SEC fees?
