"What happens if someone pays for and registers the program, and then SI slams the door in your face and cuts you off?"

SI will have a boat load of unhappy users if that happened, unless they provide the same functionality themselves.

I can't see why they would do that.

Hi MoneyBaggs,
Glad you like my program.

When you're using BrowseMaster, the BrowseMaster server you connect to is the DOS application running in the background. If they don't allow BrowseMaster to connect to SI, that means that you wouldn't be able to connect to SI either. I guess SI could filter requests to determine if BrowseMaster was originating the request. If they did implement some sort of filter, I could change my program to format my requests exactly like Netscape and everyone could update using the automatic update facility build into BrowseMaster. I am sure SI has better things to do with their time than to engage in this sort of cyber-proliferation.

The value of SI is partly the whole SI community. Word spreads quickly around here, and if they start taking actions that are not in the best interests of the SI user community, their business will suffer. Based on feedback I've received so far, there are many SI users who think that it is in their best interests to access SI through BrowseMaster. I am confident that SI wants to do things to increase its usage and user satisfaction, and "slamming the door in my face" does not fall into that category.

Regards,
Craig
