Where were you when we were told we couldn't run two independent ethernet cards on a brand-new Gateway WindowsNT workstation. Good thing we had a 5-year old Sun Sparc 5 to handle this "strange" mix...

Hmm, I have run dual Token Ring cards and Dual Ethernet cards in NT server before without problem. Perhaps you did not install the drivers properly. Generally they are included with the card and include a one page instruction card. Typically we have our interns install the cards for practice.

However, I will admit that installing hardware under NT 4.0 can be tricky IF you do not have the right drivers. Of course, thay is why you are supposed to see if you hardware is on the NT hardware compatibility list before trying to install it.

Anyway, my comment about plug and play has regarding Windows 98. Windows 2000 will be fully plug-and-play so you will not need to ever use a Sparc again. (Or anything else developed by SUNW)
