>>Common sense dictates to remove a disk from a drive while moving it from one place to another.<<

I'm sorry, but your posts (and others as well) remind me so much of Clinton in the way that excuse after excuse piles up all the while what is plainly evident and written in black and white gets pushed back farther and farther into the muck.

The Flop! manual clearly states NEVER (NOT sometimes, Not once in a while, NOT when convenient, etc etc)...NEVER Transport the Flop! disk inside the Flop! drive. Now then, someone has offered up the lame excuse that cameras are delicate as well. This is simply not true. You don't have to take the film out of your camera every time you transport it. If you did, portable consumer cameras would not be nearly as successful as they are. Besides, this argument limits Flop!'s use to just "digital film" in cameras. But wasn't Flop! SUPPOSED to be much much more?

Wasn't Flop! supposed to be a cross-device media? Do Cellphones count? I don't know about you, but I typically keep my cellphone in my coat pocket. The last thing I want to do to when I use my cellphone is: 1) stop walking 2)pull out the cellphone 3)fish around for a Flop! disk 4)fumble with it. open the case (etc etc) and 5)load it in, 6)load the number from the disk, 7)hang up, 8)remove the Flop! disk and put it in its case 9) put everything back in my pocket (making sure not to lose the Flop! disk along the way.

I simply want to pull the phone out of my pocket, hit autodial (from memory on CompactFlash), hang up, and put it back in my pocket. (all the while, continuing walking). If you are one to follow the Flop! Owner's manual directions, you cannot do this... Personally, I would like to keep my warranty going as long as possible, and follow the manual.

BTW, Compactflash has NO limitations in regards to transportation. Indeed, a CompactFlash card is sure to outlast and be 10 times as durable the device it's in. And you don't have to remove CF when moving.
