Dell, as I'm sure you will agree, is a much better animal than Amazon at this juncture, IMO, Amazon will survive is some form or fashion....in my prediction, a scaled-down website selling something other than books..

Amazon can not make money on most the items they sell.....they never will.

At some point...I think by the end of this year....they will have to jettison their current strategy and focus on profitability...to me, the bond offering was a bad sign....they will need to do many more...
When the stock price goes flat or down, like recently...and more and more likely, like it will in the future...their ability to out-run (some would say mask) their problems with growth fueled by stock financing will cease...

I dont want Dell to have the same PE or anything as Amazon...maybe just a little premium.<g>

I admire Amazon for what they have done...but sadly, I can't see how it will end well...primarily given what Barnes and Noble/Bertelsmann's "barnesandnoble.com" can do...not to mention the buy.com and others...
