The latest incarnation of XFree86 also supports the flat panel display, support was added by an engineer at #9. No OpenGL support, but neither does the $85 XiG server

Anyone else think the R12k is under-powered compared to the HP PA-8500? Not that MIPS is part of SGI anymore but, it seems the choice is between MIPS and Intel, and Intel isn't going to provide anything fast until McKinley.

SGI's numbers went from:

250MHz R10k Octane:
SpecInt 13.6 SpecFp 20.3

to
300MHz R12k Octane:
SpecInt 17.3 SpecFp 27.5

while HP's
360MHz PA-8500 C360
SpecInt 26.0 SpecFp 28.1

and HP's got a 440 MHz chip shipping in their big iron boxes (only a SpecInt_Rate number for that, I wonder why, maybe the memory subsystem is starved and SpecFp don't look so good?)

Will SGI have a faster chip for their O2000 machines too?
