Thanks Phillip, I was just trying to think of all possible reasons why Iomega would warn Clik! owners to not leave the disk inserted when finished with taking pictures with their camera. I believe that warranty considerations, as brought out by Gottfried, is probably the main reason it is mentioned in the manual, however it may still be reasonable to remove the disk before putting the drive (or camera with Clik! built-in) back in the camera bag to store it and move on. It is good to know that inserting the disk has no effect on battery usage. I should have realized that Iomega engineers would have addressed this factor in their design. As Allan brings out, having the heads exposed (unparked) would also present a potential hazard should the unit receive some physical shock while being transported. BTW I had a chance to see and hold the Olympus 400-Z digital camera when I recently visited Fry's Electronics in Phoenix and I must say I was a beautiful, compact, camera and I was tempted. Now that some companies are bundling this camera with a free Clik! drive, it becomes an even better deal. But I'm still waiting to see what takes place over the next 6 - 8 months as to whether an OEM releases good mega-pixel camera with a built-in Clik! drive. I take it that you are still happy with your Clik! drive? Have you found anything about the Clik! that you would like to see modified or does it work up to your expectations so far? I do think that Iomega needs to educate the sales force as to what the Clik! is and how to best present it to the consumer in the store. At Fry's Electronics there were a few Clik! units on a shelf in the adjoining aisle on the other side of where the digital cameras were displayed. Not far away, but not displayed right along with the cameras. One poster on the Motley Fool thread did mention that the Clik! drive packages were nicely displayed right above the digital camera in Frys in California so maybe they are getting it right now.
