Yes, the numbers I posted were wild speculation. I tried to plug in numbers that might be within the realm of possibility. They turn out so big because of that original $165,000,000 figure from the rotisserie oven alone that I extrapolated from the MSN interview. But unless Ron Popeil is being misleading about that amount, the numbers that come out are significant no matter how conservatively I crunch them. Popeil also claims in that interview that he spent 120million marketing the food dehydrator. Obviously we are dealing with a company that is on a scale that dwarfs many other outfits. The fact that ONTV is performing a service that anyone else could provide goes for any number of e-commerce sites, wouldn't you agree? What adds value to this deal is the exclusive contract that they have with RONCO, which I assume is meant by their recent press release. Amazon's success can be replicated by many online book retailors, yet nobody can carry RONCO products except ONTV. Why? I don't know, but the fact that they have a working relationship that goes back several years might have something to do with it. You always try to do business with people you believe in. Popeil almost sold them the company a few years ago. At that point ONTV was able to come up with 25millionn financing, enough to announce that they had purchased RONCO, I assume. Not many institutions will set up that level of financing unless you have something there. Again, if this is a pump and dump, I really wonder why RONCO would get involved in such a shady operation. Why don't they announce that ONTV is being misleading in their press release and that the current stock prices are way over-inflated. Perhaps someone should complain to RONCO and see how they respond. IF they don't condone this activity, you can bet I'll be selling my shares in a hurry. Till then, I'm content with my modest position in this venture.
