Ten - Re: "So where are your hard facts which categorically prove me wrong?"

Greg nus has no facts - because he doesn't know what a fact is.

He is just a looney who bought AMD at $27.500 and $29 9/16 in hopes of "getting-rich-quick" and he saw his investment CRUMBLE.

He resorts to pathetic, erroneous assertions and accusations only to hide the deep pain and disgust he holds for himself due to investing in LAME-MD (tm PREngel).

Don't be too harsh on nus - be kind to the poor whacko.

Paul

Ten - Check out the Intel thread - two posts on Intel's functional 0.18 micron Dixon chip and a Pentium III motherboard with the Whitney Chip Set - integrated Graphics/Chip Set !

Intel is revving up its engines - and LAME-MD is stuck in the cross-walk !

Tench - RE: " Here's the link to Tom's Hardware Guide, a respected Web site, which shows that an AMD K6-2 running at 400 MHz and with 3DNow enabled still can't even beat a CeleronA running at 300 MHz:

tomshardware.com;

What percentage of notebook users play Quake on their notebookd? Not many when the video cards in them aren't Riva TNTs, but cheap 2D(/3D?) ones.

ten, for the first time, your post agreed with me that AMd does ahve a price advantage over Intel. Secondly you noted the AMd Winbook winning the editors chioce. these are good steps in regaining your objectivity. now for tom's review what missing in his presentation is the system tested cost. do you beleive it is a fair comparison to test a system that cost $1,000.oo against one that cost $2,500.00. Also would the review not be more objective is the cost differential was used to optimise the low cost system? I must admit it is very refreshing to see an intellabee amdit to some of AMds advantages. You may even be on your way to recovering your objectivity. have no fear in doing so free thinking will keep you sharper.ANd youmay find this an advantage in helping Intel where they fall behind. Don't for one minute think AMd will give up the low lend market because the last guy to the $50.00 chip is the ultimate loser. Grove knows this so does Barrett, problem is Intel would have to turn itself upside down and canabolise itself to get there and greed stands in their way. if im not mistakes grove discussed this in his book only the parinoid survive. Sanders says Grove you magnificant Bastard i read your book. famouse line from Patten, as he defeated Roummal. at El Alimane, Tunisia, during the African Campaign.

I have a AMSTech laptop with K6-2 366 (64 MB memory 100 Mhz I think)and a DELL XPS R-450 (128 MB 100 Mhz) and I find that my laptop works faster than my DELL machine consistently. This is what I perceive and I believe that is all that matters. I paid only $2000 (14.1 inch screen) for my laptop and $2500 for my DELL machine without a monitor. I prefer to use my LAPTOP to my DELL most of the time because it is convenient and much faster and also boots up quickly, BTW both have Windows 98.

I do not own INTEL or AMD stock, however I am considering buying AMD stock. I feel that in the long run for Intel to win they have to lower their price and consequently their margins will eroded which in turn will adversely effect the high valuation of their stock price. On the other hand AMD has still room to grow from where they are. Also most of the future growth is going to come from 3rd world countries such as India and China where people are price sensitive and practical and don't care what is inside as long it works as good and is cheap.

If we leave emotion aside my feeling is that in the long run AMD stock may have significantly better returns that INTEL from this point onwards.
