News Release:

Attention Business Editors:

Tan Range extends the golden horseshoe reef to 1500m in length

VANCOUVER, Feb. 22 /CNW/ - Tan Range Exploration Corporation
Alberta Stock Exchange Symbol: TNX

Tan Range Exploration Corporation is pleased to announce that over
three-quarters of the company's planned 7200 meter RAB (rapid air blast)
drilling program at its Itetemia gold property in the Lake Victoria goldfields
of Tanzania has been completed.
Approximately 80 holes have been drilled at nominal 25 meter intervals on
RAB drill fences located to transect geophysical conductors interpreted to
form the extension of the Golden Horseshoe Reef (''GHR'').
Preliminary logging of drill cuttings from the first four drill fences
which traverse the extension of the GHR to approximately 1500 meters northwest
of the GHR has been completed. This logging indicates the presence of a
previously untested sulphide-rich (up to 10% visually estimated pyrite +
pyrrhotite) zone which averages approximately 20 meters in apparent width.
This zone is found within rock types similar to the GHR (porphyries, crystal
tuffs and argillites). This drilling confirms the fault displacement of the
GHR indicated by geophysical surveys.
In addition to the sulphide zone described above, a 6 meter wide
hematized zone with blue quartz was cut at 2150E. The presence of blue quartz
is very significant in this geological setting.
The RAB drilling program is still in progress and testing the northwest
extension. Assay results will be reported as soon as they become available.
