Richard -- Glenn posted too much. He is in the retail business and has provided the most insightful critique of AMZN that you will find on the thread. Even those who strongly differ in their opinions with Glenn moved to get him back ASAP. His research was a 'goldmine' for those concerned with the direction of the stock. His position, which I share, is that AMZN will wind up bankrupt and has little underlying value -- or negative value. He shorted AMZN all the way up to around 180 and hates the stock -- but he is a very thoughtful, emotionally balanced gentleman. He is in retail, but I did not know he is in the jewelry business. I was encouraging him to spend more time on gold. I doubt that will mean much to this thread, if I am to judge by the quality of people here by using old 49 as the yardstick. He probably feels, as I do, that he wandered into a bar for a quiet drink and some conversation about gold, only to find the town fool looking for a fight after having too much to drink, getting very loud and puking on people. Not the kind of place you would want to spend time let alone learn and share information.

Huh? I'm just pointing out Hawaiian Glen (one 'n')...his track record is 0-2 now, since proGlen showed up. He missed badly on his dramatic gold call "moving up as of this very critical weekend" call, and his bearish pooh pooh of AMZN on Friday. Oh, let's make that 0 for 3...I believe he's underwater in his NEM shares as well. This guy's gonna hafta swing with 3 bats the next time he comes to the plate, just to break even<g>

And him introducing us to Glenn Rudolph (with 2 n's) the jeweler, is rather an interesting association, especially since Rudolph got caught at something and got booted of SI for a spell starting obviously late this weekend after posting here on GPM...

Notice GOLD is going nowhere again this am...
And just for kicks...the price of fractionals, of ANY NATION over here on the wholesale teletype circuit continues to strengthen...hmmmm Suppose ole Yardeni's people are going to puke their coins back up now that Ed has sold out to the "no big deal camp?" Personally wondered how long THAT would take. Hell, even Tony Dwyer see's Y2K pinching earnings considerably before this year is over, as these companies finally book the expense of the "fix from hell."

Oh, and another thing Gary North said that I'd like Kobault to comment upon that I didn't really understand, not being a programer and all...
Gary said in Friday night's interview, that date problem arose in 1969 when IBM rode in on a white horse and created a patch to make the transition to 1970. But, Gary THEN went on to say, that there was no way to patch the IBM patch this go around...

Someone want to put that whole scenario into layman's language for this poor ole prospector?

Thx.
