U.S. Jets Hit Air Defenses In Northern Iraq

<< U.S. F-15E warplanes dropped 2,000-pound ''bunker buster'' bombs on a military command and control site in the northern Iraq no-fly zone Tuesday after they were targeted by anti-aircraft fire, the Pentagon said.

In a separate incident in the zone, other F-15s attacked a multiple-launch rocket system near the city of Mosul with 500-pound bombs after they were fired on by Iraqi anti-aircraft guns, a Defense Department spokesman said. >>
