U.S. HEADLINE STOCKS - Issues to watch Feb. 23 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NEW YORK, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Stocks to watch Tuesday: -- Investors will eye financial stocks ahead of testimony to Congress by Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan. The Standard & Poor's financial index rose 3.06 percent on Monday. -- Dell Computer DELL.O was trading higher in London Tuesday morning, extending gains made in the U.S. on Monday. Shares of the personal computer direct seller were up 1/4 to 85-1/8. They closed at 80-1/8 Monday. -- Cable television operator Adelphia Communications Corp. ADLAC.O. said Tuesday it had agreed to buy cable television firm FrontierVision Partners LP for $2.1 billion in a cash, debt and stock deal. Adelphia closed Monday at 61-5/8. -- Union Planters Corp.'s UPC.N Union Planters Bank N.A. said Monday night it had agreed to acquire Republic Banking Corp. RBCF.O for about $412 million cash. Republic Banking closed at 17-1/16, while Union Planters finished at 46-7/16.
